EeDe aka Eric Danell was born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina. He has been surrounded by music for
as long as he can remember. His early musical experiences are rooted in gospel, first from his father who presided as pastor
over Southern Holiness Church to touring the South with his Uncle’s gospel band.
After Graduating from Ralph Fike High School in Wilson, NC, Danell relocated to Atlanta,
Georgia. It was here he began recording professionally for the first timeand where he acquired the moniker EeDe,
an urban twist on his initials ED.
Atlanta’s flourishing urban music scene gave
EeDe his first big break and producer Mark Sparks (Sunshine Anderson etc…), was impressed enough with his talent to
fly him out to his Hollywood studio. There he developed his craft as a writer and producer and caught the attention
of the industry jet set. He was a frequent visitor at recording sessions with artists Nas, Anthony Hamilton, Sunshine Anderson,
and finally cutting a record with Canibus. The legendary founder of Atlantic Records, Ahmet Ertgen urged him to continue
with his career; encouragement from such a stellar industry veteran helped motivate him.
EeDe returned to Atlanta
in 2004 and signed with New Media Entertainment. He recorded and released his first single and video “Let’s Get
To It” with the label. Although the company soon dissolved his single received heavy rotation on BET and was followed
with a South Eastern tour of the US, which helped create a strong buzz for him in the south. He was able to build on
that momentum when he was fortunate enough to connect with legendary boxing promoter Butch Lewis and sign with his label,
Voicez. Voicez Music Group is a Def Jam joint venture and part of the entertainment arm of Butch Lewis Productions.
Voicez’ CEO Lewis says, EeDe has all the charm and personality of a young Brian McKnight. His vocals are as smooth
as silk and matched with the right producers there is no doubt in my mind he will blow up.
The label recently showcased
EeDe’s vocal talents at a private reception for industry executives. He received rave responses from an excited
audience which included Def Jam Chairman, L.A. Reid, who expressed his enthusiasm for this young R&B artists’ considerable
vocal talent and energized
