Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina Hip Hop duo Kinfolk is blazing a trail across the southern
Hip Hop music scene. Tracks like “In Tha South” and “100% Grind,” from their debut album have the
Southern club scene crunk and are adding to the buzz on how this duo grind it out. Kinfolk’s unique flow, clever delivery
and first-class production are certain to deliver a several Hip Hop anthems to rival anything of the past.
Mark Fleming a/k/a, Hollow Tip and David Johnson a/k/a Metro, began rhyming
together in grade school. Hollow Tip’s highly charged flamboyant flava’ compliments Metro’s slightly more
laid-back style. Their music reflects their dual personalities with lyrics that mix Lil’ Jon’s crunk with the
tight lyrical word play of Mystical.
Kinfolk’s
lyrical talent is well known on the Southern hip hop scene. Before signing with Voicez, the duo gained exposure performing
in talent and amateur shows, winning every time. Hollow Tip and Metro knew their potential and without a record deal,
they took matters into their own hands and made a modest profit selling their music themselves on the streets of Columbia.
Brandon Lewis, Executive and Senior VP of A&R
with Voicez Music Group with his ear to the streets, followed the success of Kinfolk’s underground releases. After
his first meeting with the group he was sure of the group’s potential and signed them to the label.
